                                     BALAYAGE AND OMBRE COLOR

One of the biggest new trends in haircoloring today is Balayage.  Balayage is a French word meaning "to sweep."  To Balayage the hair is to use a brush to paint a thick mixture of lightner onto a section of hair by using a sweeping motion to apply lightner from thin at the roots to thicker towards the ends. This leaves a beachy sort of highlight on the hair. Balayage is different from foiling or weaving the hair because these common techniques tend to lighten the root area so much that a strong  regrowth line is noticible within a few weeks.  Balayage grows out more gently than foils and can be done on any color hair - blonde, red, or brunette.

A big West Coast trend is a technique called Ombre'  that highlights the outline of the hair cut in order to create a contrast between the scalp hair to mid-shaft and mid-shaft to ends.  The contrast can be subtle or to the limits of the imagination.  Ombre' also works for those clients who like to add vivid shades of color to the hair.

The truth about Keratin Smoothing Treatments

There's been a lot of negative talk about smoothing products lately. The controversy is due to the large amounts of Formaldehyde in many Brazillian Treatments.
SIMPLY SMOOTH KERATIN TREATMENT is a formaldehyde free smoothing formula that provides high performance smoothing in a safe, natural process. SIMPLY SMOOTH KERATIN TREATMENT will reduce and relax curl while leaving hair revitilized, reconditioned and silky smooth for up to 16 weeks.
The advantages of Keratin Smoothing as opposed to other smoothing processes using chemicals similar to permanent waves is that there are none of these chemicals in SIMPLY SMOOTH KERATIN TREATMENT. Keratin is a natural conditioner. The gentle formula is also enriched with vitamins from plants, apple pulp and vanillin. OUR FORMULA IS SO GENTLE IN FACT, HAIR CAN BE COLORED OR HIGHLIGHTED THE SAME DAY. AND UNLIKE OTHER KERATIN TREATMENTS OUT THERE, IT WON'T ALTER LIGHTER SHADES OF COLOR.
